Kyai Fatahillah meets Ensemble Gending

Our fourth Indonesian Tour!
This time to collaborate with the Indonesian Ensemble Kyai Fatahillah and to prepare joint performances on Java. Later on Kyai Fatahillah came to Holland as a guest of the International Gamelan Festival Amsterdam, where we performed together in the program Gamelan Now.
 
Already in 2006 we did performances on several stages in Indonesia, Kyai Fatahillah playing the Dutch composition Gending by Ton de Leeuw and Ensemble Gending playing several pieces by Indonesian composers: Dedy Hernawan, Slamet Sjukur and Dody Ekagustdiman. At that occasion we performed separately.
 

Four years later we performed together and rehearsed together during one whole week in Bandung.
 
Now both ensembles were on stage simultaneously and playing together!
 
This was a unique opportunity for both ensembles to learn from each other and demonstrate this to their home audience, in Indonesia in Holland.
